Len Mancini

Griffith & Riverina NSW/VIC

Len is an experienced IP practitioner having started his IP career over 20 years ago in patent litigation. Since being admitted as Australian solicitor in 1999 Len has also registered as an Australian and New Zealand Patent and Trade Mark Attorney to assist clients in the creation and prosecution of IP rights.

Len gained registration as a patent attorney via his technical background in molecular biology and biotechnology, majoring in plant genetics. This technical background has assisted Len in providing services to the life sciences industries including those seeking plant breeder rights registrations for new plant varieties.  This has also tied in with Len’s farming background, having grown up on and currently maintaining a citrus farm in the Riverina. As a result, Len is passionate about all aspects of emerging agricultural technologies including AI and automation which provide real solutions to the issues facing farmers and regional producers in the 21C.

In addition to life sciences and plant breeders Len has provided patent attorney services to a much wider range of industries including the chemical, mechanical and electrical industries. Len also prosecutes trade mark applications for clients, particularly in the food and wine industries and works closely with country solicitors and their clients to provide them with the IP services they require without having to take themselves to the city for these specialised services.
